TERMS AND CONDITIONS

To be eligible to participate in the IEM Student Camps/Programs, student must read and agree to the terms and conditions as stipulated below.

IEM Policies:

Student agrees to adhere to the policies and procedures contained in all IEM forms, documents and handbooks including the Terms and Conditions outlined below.

All Camps/Programs Offered are Subject to Availability:

International Education Management Group, Inc. (IEM) reserves the right to cancel a camp or make changes to camp/program arrangements without liability if circumstances beyond our control necessitate it or due to low enrollment. In such cases, IEM would seek to offer alternative arrangements, dates or venues, or a full refund of fees for tuition and accommodations.

IEM reserves the right to refuse to accept a student due to overriding health and safety concerns, or in cases where IEM or the accommodation provider cannot make reasonable provisions to facilitate their learning needs or for their personal care.

Camp/Program Content:

Camps/programs offered are subject to demand. IEM reserve the right to vary the organization and content of the camp/program, and the range of leisure activities, according to numbers of students or in response to circumstances beyond our control.

Student Conduct/Standards of Behavior:

IEM reserve the right to expel, without notice, any student who persistently misbehaves during class time, activities or in his/her accommodation, or who fails to meet the requirements of the camp/program. There is no refund of fees to any student whose camp/program is terminated in this way.

Responsibilities of the Parent and/or Guardian:

By agreeing to the IEM terms and conditions, the parent or guardian:

  1. Grants the student permission to participate in the full camp/program and any leisure activities;
  2. Authorizes IEM to take appropriate action in the case of any medical or other emergency, and accepts responsibility for any resultant costs;
  3. Accepts responsibility for any willful damage caused by the student and any resultant cost for repair or replacement.

Liability:

IEM and student shall defend, indemnify, and hold free and harmless the other party, including its agents, officers, employees, trustees, and volunteers from any and all claims, demands, costs, liability, loss, damage, or injury of any kind, in law or equity, to property or persons, including personal injury and/or death, to the extent that any of the above arise out of or relates to the act, negligence, or willful misconduct of that party, its employees, subcontractors, or agents directly or indirectly connected to that party’s activities.

IEM accepts no liability for the loss of, or damage to, any person’s property while on the premise of IEM, or while engaged in leisure activities outside the camps/programs. IEM, its staff, and its representatives are not liable for and, to the fullest extent permitted by law, for loss, damage or injury to persons or property however caused, except where liability is expressly imposed beyond exclusion by statute.

Travel Insurance:

Prior to departure to the United States in the interest in participating in an IEM camp/program, student must provide current travel insurance. Throughout the duration of the IEM camp/program, student is required to have travel insurance coverage. Students who do not have current travel insurance at any time during the IEM camp/program will be dismissed from the IEM camp/program.

Health Policy:

Prior to participating in an IEM camp/program, student agrees to disclose any relevant medical conditions that may impact their performance in an IEM camp/program.

Student Activities:

IEM organized supervised field trips throughout IEM camps/programs. Certain activities may require additional fees not included in the original program cost. In order for the student to attend the scheduled activities, the student must be in good standing with IEM and any host families.

Airport Pick-up:

If requested, IEM will arrange transportation from an IEM-designated airport to the student’s homestay and/or dormitory accommodations. Airport pick-up arrangements from Los Angeles International Airport to the student’s homestay and/or dormitory accommodations will be accessed a fee of $350.00. Students arriving outside of IEM-designated airports are required to contact IEM two (2) weeks prior to their scheduled flight for special arrangements.

Promotional Photographs and Videos:

IEM or its representatives may take photographs and videos of classes or other IEM activities during the camp/program which may be used for promotional purposes. If the student does not wish to appear in any promotional materials, it must be requested at the time of the application.

Payments and Cancellation Policy

Forms of Payment:

Fees must be paid by international bank draft, wire transfer (transaction fee applies), credit card through Paypal (5% transaction fee applies) or personal check from a U.S. bank. Chinese based citizens may make payments through EasyTransfer. Other forms of payment are not acceptable.

Application Fee:

There is a $100.00 non-refundable fee due at the time of submitting the application. The application fee is payable to IEM as described on the Application.

Camp/Program Fee;

Tuition fees are paid to IEM and must be received before the Student is enrolled into the IEM camp/program. Please refer to the Payment Schedule for the corresponding camp/program.

Deposit Requirement:

Prior to May 12th, 2017, students enrolled in the Francis Parker College Application Camp are required to submit a non-refundable deposit of $1,000.00 to International Education Management Group, Inc. 1500 State Street, San Diego CA 92101.

Cancellation:

  1. Cancellations due to program cancellation by IEM, will receive a full refund including the application fee.
  2. Cancellation takes effect when IEM is provided with a Notice of Cancellation to IEM.
  3. Cancellations that occur after the camp/program start date are not entitled to a refund.

Refund for Francis Parker Middle School Enrichment Language Immersion Summer Program:

  1. Refunds are calculated based on the date the student notifies IEM of their Notice of Cancellation.
  2. The Application Fee is non-refundable.
  3. Students who cancel prior to June 15th, 2017, are entitled to an 80% pro-rated refunded, except for the non-refundable Application Fee.
  4. Students who cancel prior to June 26th, 2017, are entitled to a 50% pro-rated refunded, except for the non-refundable Application Fee.
  5. No refunds will be issued after June 26th, 2017, barring extraordinary circumstances.
  6. No refunds will be issued after the student’s enrollment start date, barring extraordinary circumstances.
  7. No refunds will be issued if the student is dismissed at any time from the camp/program due to discipline issues.
  8. No refunds will be issued if the student breaches the terms and conditions stipulated in this document.
  9. No refunds will be issued due to homesickness.
  10. No refunds will be issued due to not following IEM rules and/or homestay policies.
  11. No refunds will be issued if the student decides to return home at any time due to personal reasons.
  12. No refunds will be issued if the student breaks at U.S. immigration, state or federal laws.
  13. Refunds will be issued within thirty (30) calendar days of receipt of the Notice of Cancellation, if applicable. IEM will only refund funds to the person or company from whom the funds originated.

Refund for Francis Parker College Application Camp:

  1. Refunds are calculated based on the date the student notifies IEM of their Notice of Cancellation.
  2. The Application Fee is non-refundable.
  3. Students who cancel prior to June 15th, 2017, are entitled to a 100% pro-rated refunded, except for the non-refundable Application Fee and tuition deposit fee of $1,000.00.
  4. Students who cancel prior to June 26th, 2017, are entitled to a 50% pro-rated refunded, except for the non-refundable Application Fee and tuition deposit fee of $1,000.00.
  5. No refunds will be issued after June 26th, 2017, barring extraordinary circumstances.
  6. No refunds will be issued after the student’s enrollment start date, barring extraordinary circumstances.
  7. No refunds will be issued if the student is dismissed at any time from the camp/program due to discipline issues.
  8. No refunds will be issued if the student breaches the terms and conditions stipulated in this document.
  9. No refunds will be issued due to homesickness.
  10. No refunds will be issued due to not following IEM rules and/or homestay policies.
  11. No refunds will be issued if the student decides to return home at any time due to personal reasons.
  12. No refunds will be issued if the student breaks at U.S. immigration, state or federal laws.
  13. Refunds will be issued within thirty (30) calendar days of receipt of the Notice of Cancellation, if applicable. IEM will only refund funds to the person or company from whom the funds originated.

Refund for English and Baseball Summer League Program & San Diego Academic Summer Camp:

  1. Refunds are calculated based on the date the student notifies IEM of their Notice of Cancellation.
  2. The Application Fee is non-refundable.
  3. If the student decides to cancel his/her reservation three (3) weeks prior to the student’s enrollment start date, IEM will refund 60% of the total fee, except for the non-refundable Application Fee.
  4. If the student decides to cancel his/her reservation two (2) weeks prior to the student’s enrollment start date, IEM will refund 45% of the total fee, except for the non-refundable Application Fee.
  5. If the student decides to cancel his/her reservation one (1) week prior to the student’s enrollment start date, IEM will not refund any of the fees.
  6. No refunds will be issued after the student’s enrollment start date, barring extraordinary circumstances.
  7. No refunds will be issued if the student is dismissed at any time from the camp/program due to discipline issues.
  8. No refunds will be issued if the student breaches the terms and conditions stipulated in this document.
  9. No refunds will be issued due to homesickness.
  10. No refunds will be issued due to not following IEM rules and/or homestay policies.
  11. No refunds will be issued if the student decides to return home at any time due to personal reasons.
  12. No refunds will be issued if the student breaks at U.S. immigration, state or federal laws.
  13. Refunds will be issued within thirty (30) calendar days of receipt of the Notice of Cancellation, if applicable. IEM will only refund funds to the person or company from whom the funds originated.

Withdrawals:

  1. Student may withdraw from IEM camps/programs at any time after the cancellation period.
  2. Withdrawal takes effect when IEM is provided with a Notice of Withdrawal to International Education Management Group, Inc. 1500 State Street, San Diego CA 92101.
  3. Upon receipt of the Notice of Withdrawal, the student will be immediately dropped from IEM camps/programs. The date used to determine when the student is no longer enrolled in the camp/program is the date the student notifies IEM of their Notice of Withdrawal.

The Refund Policy stipulated in the Terms and Conditions will be utilized.
