Enrichment Program

The Enrichment/Language Immersion Program at Parker was designed for international students ages 11-15, seeking to improve their English proficiency and immerse in an American cultural experience. 

Students lived with host families, enjoyed stimulating and fun activities while in San Diego, and immersed themselves in in academic and enrichment classes with American students. The Parker Summer Program provided an American learning experience in traditional classroom settings while enjoying all the other treasures San Diego can only offer.

Program Dates: July 8 – July 29, 2017 (3 weeks)

Homestay Experience: Immerse in the American lifestyle as with an approved, English-speaking host family.

Academic Program: Two (2) morning classes with Parker students, Monday-Friday. Afternoon extracurricular and leadership-building activities.

Application process opens: Mid-February 2017

Application deadline: May 12, 2017

Students: 20 students, ages 11-15 entering grades 6,7,8,9 (other grades by permission of Francis Parker)

Requirement: Min. TOEFL score of 50, or interview required

7:00 P.M. – 8:30 P.M. | HOMEWORK AND STUDY ENGLISH

Package Includes

Pick up and drop off to and from the San Diego International Airport.

Homestay accommodations. A host family may host 2-4 international students at a time. Each student has his/her own bed. No more than two students per room.

Breakfast and dinner prepared by the host family, lunch provided by Parker (Monday – Friday). Weekend meals provided by the host family.

Transportation to and from extracurricular activities by Parker bus.

Paid admission fees for the extracurricular activities.

A local 24 hours emergency phone number service.

Fees Not Included
  1. Any service fees and/or charges to secure travel (tourist) visa
  2. Airfare
  3. Unaccompanied travel fee for minors
  4. Supplemental travel and health insurance
  5. Additional meals not provided by the host family or Parker
Cancellation Policy

Should an applicant elect to cancel enrollment in the 2017 Parker Summer Program, the following refund schedule applies:

  1. Through June 15: 80% refund, except for the $100 application fee
  2. Through June 26: 50% refund, except for the $100 application fee
  3. After June 26: No refunds will be issued, barring extraordinary circumstances.
