Founded in 1912, Francis Parker School is a nationally-recognized independent/private day school. For 105 years, the School has offered a balanced, challenging and integrated educational program in academics, the performing and visual arts, and athletics.

For the past 57 years, Parker has offered a comprehensive Summer Program that attracts both local and international students.
As California’s 2nd largest city (only behind Los Angeles), San Diego is acknowledged widely as offering a relaxed pace of life enjoyed by a family-friendly population.
San Diego residents are accommodating to, and eager to help international students who wish to make the most of an American educational experience, regardless of length. Experience a city that offers cultural diversity, endless golden beaches, famous museums, and a variety of recreational activities.
Students lived with host families, enjoyed stimulating and fun activities while in San Diego, and immersed themselves in in academic and enrichment classes with American students. The Parker Summer Program provided an American learning experience in traditional classroom settings while enjoying all the other treasures San Diego can only offer.
Program Dates: July 8 – July 29, 2017 (3 weeks)
Homestay Experience: Immerse in the American lifestyle as with an approved, English-speaking host family.
Academic Program: Two (2) morning classes with Parker students, Monday-Friday. Afternoon extracurricular and leadership-building activities.

Students: 20 students, ages 11-15 entering grades 6,7,8,9 (other grades by permission of Francis Parker)
Requirement: Min. TOEFL score of 50, or interview required

Pick up and drop off to and from the San Diego International Airport.
Homestay accommodations. A host family may host 2-4 international students at a time. Each student has his/her own bed. No more than two students per room.
Breakfast and dinner prepared by the host family, lunch provided by Parker (Monday – Friday). Weekend meals provided by the host family.
Transportation to and from extracurricular activities by Parker bus.
Paid admission fees for the extracurricular activities.
