Founded in 1912, Francis Parker School is a nationally-recognized independent/private day school. For 105 years, the School has offered a balanced, challenging and integrated educational program in academics, the performing and visual arts, and athletics.
Parker’s mission is to inspire a diverse community of independent thinkers whose academic excellence, global perspective and strength of character prepare them to make a meaningful differences in the world. For the past 57 years, Parker has offered a comprehensive Summer Program that attracts both local and international students.
As California’s 2nd largest city (only behind Los Angeles), San Diego is acknowledged widely as offering a relaxed pace of life enjoyed by a family-friendly population.
San Diego residents are accommodating to, and eager to help international students who wish to make the most of an American educational experience, regardless of length. Experience a city that offers cultural diversity, endless golden beaches, famous museums, and a variety of recreational activities.
For the past several summers, Parker has accepted students from the China region, all of whom take a full day of courses and activities in English-Immersion classes with American students. For the 2017 summer, we will identify and invite up to 28 international students (primarily entering the 10th, 11th and 12th grades, with entering 9th graders considered) who are planning to attend an American university or college.
