About The Rock Academy

The Rock Academy is located in Point Loma, San Diego, California. Point Loma is one of the prettiest and safest neighborhood in the U.S. These make the Rock Academy the perfect school for foreign exchange students.

Program Overview

This immersion program is designed for exchange students who are interested in studying abroad in the U.S: studying with local American students; experiencing all sort of activities that the Rock Academy can offer; living with a host family; The Rock Academy will pair the exchange student with a local American student in order for the exchange student to experience the real deal of private school life here in the U.S.

Date: Jan 21st – Feb 5th, 2017 (15 days)

Homestay: Living with a host family in which they will provide 3 meals (breakfast, packed lunch, and dinner) a day and transportation to and from the school. Maximum 2 students per host family.

Activities: Tour San Diego – USS Midway Museum, La Jolla, Belmont Park, Pacific Beach, Balboa Park, SeaWorld, and UCSD.

Dress Code: Gray short sleeve polo and khaki color skirt or long pants.

10 limited spots available for 7th to 11th graders

Extracurricular Activities

Visit SeaWorld

Shop at Viejas Outlet, visit La Jolla, UCSD, and Belmont Park

Visit Balboa Park and museums

Visit USS Midway Museum, Seaport Village, and downtown San Diego

Visit Liberty Station and watch a movie at the state-of-the-art movie theater

Sample Daily Schedule

6:00 A.M. – 6:30 A.M. | WAKE UP AND GET READY

6:30 A.M. – 7:00 A.M. | BREAKFAST

7:00 A.M. – 7:20 A.M. | HOST FAMILY DROP OFF AT SCHOOL

7:30 A.M. – 12:30 P.M. | CLASSES WITH AMERICAN STUDENTS

12:30 P.M. – 1:10 P.M. | LUNCH (A PACKED LUNCH PROVIDED BY HOST FAMILY)

1:10 P.M. – 2:45 P.M. | CLASSES WITH AMERICAN STUDENTS

2:45 P.M. | AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES OR GO HOME WITH HOST FAMILY

6:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. | DINNER WITH HOST FAMILY

7:00 P.M. – 8:30 P.M. | HOMEWORK AND STUDY ENGLISH

8:30 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. | GET READY FOR BED

9:00 P.M. | BEDTIME

Fees Included
  1. Pick up and drop off to and from the San Diego International Airport.
  2. Living with a host family. Host family may be hosting 2-4 international students at a time. Each student has his/her own bed. 2 students per room.
  3. Breakfast, packed lunch, and dinner prepared by host family. If student decided to forfeit the prepared meal(s), there will be no any sort of reimbursement.
  4. Transportation to and from the extracurricular activities listed above.
  5. Admissions fees to the extracurricular activities listed above.
  6. A local 24 hours emergency phone number service.
  7. Rental fee for the books needed in classes
Fees NOT Included
  1. Fees to obtain the visa.
  2. Flight tickets, airfare, and travel insurance.
  3. Any kind of insurance (we suggest students to purchase their own travel and health insurance).
  4. Meals that are not provided by the host family.
  5. Any fees that the student is responsible for – besides the admissions fees to the extracurricular activities listed above.
  6. Fees that are not stated on the “Included”.

Families are desperately needed to host minor international students for this upcoming school year. Compensation is provided for Host Families.

$100 PAYMENT per referral to anyone who refers a family that successfully begins hosting with us.
